Villa Bellini is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful villas on Lake Como, where luxury is the absolute focus of attention. It is reknowned because of the napolitan composer, Vincenzo Bellini, who wrote La Sonnambula there sometime between 1829 and 1833, a long stay indeed. Bellini was known to be fan of luxury. For centuries Villa Bellini was the residence of an aristocratic Italian family who engaged the famous architect Felice Soavi to re-design it and Andrea Apiani to arrange the many frescoes.
Sumptuously restored and renovated in 2002, it is situated on the sunny side of Lake Como just 3km from the charming village of Cernobbio.
The renovation has resulted in an elegant blend of frescoed ceilings, coloured seminato floors, Lombardy terracottas, antique wooden fixtures and including a potpourri of sculptures, paintings, tapestry and Venetian chandeliers that create an enchanting ambience of sophistication.Villa Bellini is surrounded by a captivating Italian-style garden that includes a large swimming pool with expansive views of the lake.Over the centuries many famous artists, musicians and statesmen, including Napoleon Bonaparte and Winston Churchill, have been guests at the Villa. Now, it is open to discerning travellers seeking something special where serenity, luxury and pleasure tease the senses. Please note that the estate includes a separate area with a modern guesthouse annex which can be rented for additional guests.
