| It’s been a year since we launched our first newsletter, and the feedback has been all positive. We concentrated on Sicily, Rome and Puglia in the first three editions, and now we turn our attention to UMBRIA, often called the green heart of the peninsula, it is characterised by green rolling hills, forests and lakes – some say more Tuscany than Tuscany itself. Lying just to the north of Lazio, the region containing Rome, and Siena in southern Tuscany, UMBRIA has its own artistic treasures in the shape of hillside towns like Gubbio, Orvieto and Spoleto with its world famous music festival. Rome is a day trip away and Rome’s two airports serve the region well with European and intercontinental flights. The main train line between Rome and Florence passes through too, so Florence is a possibility too. |
