Villa I Caprioli. (“The Deers Villa”) is the name of a splendid 19th century country home plus annexe. It nestles in one of Tuscany’s most unspoilt and attractive areas, a few minutes from the ancient spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni, renowned for its health-giving waters.
Inside, the décor is typically Tuscan though the owner has enhanced the effect of local authenticity with a colourful pot-pourri of antiques, carpets and fabrics of diverse provenance.
An oasis of peace and tranquillity, “Villa I Caprioli” is immersed in Tuscany’s distinctive maquis-like flora. The surrounding countryside is indeed home to several fascinating species of wild animal including deer, (hence the house’s name) fox, hare and wild boar.
“Villa I Caprioli” boasts a most attractive kidney-shaped pool built in local stone.
Both the villa and its annexe are paved in warm, terracotta floor tiles and all rooms have beamed ceilings: unpretentious display of impeccable Italian taste.
