Casale Tullio. Perched on a hilltop in the undiscovered Sabina region on the borders of Umbria and Latium, Casale Tullio stands within an archaeological time capsule. A second century roman villa, owned by the family of Rome’s most famous orator, Cicero, once looked out over the steep hills now crowned by the nearby beautiful walled towns of Casperia and Roccantica. The portico of the roman villa survives within the Casale’s grounds, evoking ancient Rome and luxurious living. The Casale is newly built, sleeping six, but has an annexe which is an 18th century conversion of Roman water storage cisterns, sleeping a further three. The position of the Casale makes it not only secluded, but cool in the summer with gentle breezes rising from the Tiber valley, and of course a large swimming pool provides the ultimate in relaxation. From here, you can visit mediaeval towns such as Poggio Catino, or further afield to Spoleto or the Medieval city of Viterbo, city of the Popes, and of course the delights of Rome are within easy striking distance.
Casale Tullio's annexe, sleeping an additional 3, can be rented at a weekly rate of Euro 1,200 in high season, Euro 1,020 in mid season and Euro 830 in low season. The annexe is not rented separately from the main house.
