Pizzariello. This splendidly aristocratic villa was designed in the 17th century. Originally built as the fortified country residence of a local noble, it later became the headquarters of a large agricultural estate. “Pizzariello” or to give it its full name, “Masseria Fortificata di Pizzariello” is near the coast about six miles south of Taranto: the blue waters and white sandy beaches of the Ionian Sea are ten minutes away by car.
This property is strategically placed for unforgettable excursions into the heart of Apulia: Grottaglie, famous for its ceramics, the baroque town of Martina Franca with its music festival and Ostuni and its fabulous Cathedral are just some of the fascinating places within less than an hour’s drive.
Guests at “Pizzariello” will have all their needs tended to by the friendly but unobtrusive staff. There is an expert local cook and a driver available at extra cost.
